Disneymoon Prep

Updated: Mar 20, 2020

Hola Party People!

As Promised here is my Disney blog!

We have been preparing for our honeymoon in Walt Disney World for some time, and continue to get ready.

Below are what we have been doing.

1. Learning the layout

Neil and I are Disneyland people. We have been twice in the last year or so. The layout of Disneyland and Disney World are similar, but there are differences. The last time I was in WDW I had a strange feeling of "kinda" knowing where I was but not at the same time. Popping on the app every once and a while helps.

2. Working out the ankles!

We have been taking long walks along the (rocky) beach and that seems to be working my ankles out. Our latest trip to Disneyland had my ankles aching, so I wanted to prevent that from happening as much this trip. I have also been using my standup desk for work.

3. Bought 2 Bamboo Utensil kits

I asked Disney customer service and the kit is ok except the knife, so I will be leaving it at home. These are for the quick service restaurants we visit in the parks that only provide single-use utensils. I found them on Amazon.

4. Ordered siliskin silicone straw lids

Disney does not offer lids anymore & I have been looking around for these for a while for my regular life. I have ordered them and I am waiting for them to deliver.

5. Collecting those Disney Giftcards!

Letting family and friends know about our plans has really helped us rake in those gift cards. We have received them for Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, etc.

6. Earn Disney Giftcards

I use an app called Shopkick to earn gift cards. I "earn" kicks by walking into select stores, scanning requested items and or buying this. So I can go to Walmart and earn kicks for walking in. I can walk over to to the health and beauty section and scan a conditioner or something and earn kicks. I don't have to buy the item to earn kicks, but if I do I can submit my receipt to earn more receipts. It does take a while to get enough kicks to earn a gift card.

7. Registered on the Disney Honeymoons Website.

This is what the Website says " Honeymoon Wishes™ is honored to provide this simple honeymoon registry service for couples taking a honeymoon at a Disney Destination. It’s a fun and easy way for your friends and family to help grant your wish of an unforgettable start to the story of the rest of your lives."

We registered for things like the Fantastmic Dinner Package & Disney’s Spirit Of Aloha Dinner Show. There are other options like carriage rides, specialty cruises tickets to Cirque Du Soleil and much more.

8. Registered for Items we will use in the Parks

I registered for these collapsible water bottles, the chill pads, and these neck fans. It might be going a little overboard, but I would rather have options!

9. Bought hot weather clothes from ThredUp

I found out a few years ago that thin, dry-fit pants are WAY more cool and comfortable than dresses or shorts for hot weather. I bought a BUNCH of different colors for Florida in June.

10. Dining Reservations

I did a lot of dining research by watching The Tim Tracker, Disney Food Blog and random things on the internet. We made dining reservations the allotted 180 days in advance. So excited for that!

Blog about WHERE we made reservations coming soon!
